Natalia Cooper, Bachelor of Arts (Journalism)

"I had a wonderful experience at Curtin. I learnt many valuable skills that I have been able to use throughout my career. I was also taught by some amazing, talented and encouraging tutors."

Natalie Papadopoulos
Natalie Papadopoulos, Bachelor of Arts, English (Journalism Major)

"I choose to attend Curtin because of the hands-on experience that could be gained by having an on-site radio station and a high quality student newspaper. The highlight of the degree was in being able to read live news bulletins through what was then Radio 6NR - this was invaluable experience and a lot of (nervous!) fun."

Jane Norman, Bachelor of Arts, Journalism

"As a journalism student, the highlight of my degree was the practical experience and getting my work published. No other university in WA has a student newspaper to rival the Western Independent and it was such a good experience writing for it and putting it all together. The other highlight was definitely creating 'The Vice', a magazine-style current affairs show in the TV current affairs unit. I loved producing the stories from scratch and to have it broadcast on access 31 was a huge sense of accomplishment. I also seriously value the contacts I've made at Curtin and the relationships I've forged with my lecturers."
